Learning Targets for the Unit: I CAN…explain the struggles immigrants faced and caused in Industrial America. I CAN...analyze the impact of Industrial immigration on American society. I CAN...explain political machines and the short & long term impact they had on America. I CAN...analyze how Orphan Trains were a reflection of American society. Essential Question(s) for the Unit: How has immigration changed the face of the U.S.? Did the benefits of industrialization out-way the costs? How should we view something positive that was created by someone/thing unethical? How effective (long-term) were Progressive Reforms?

1/28 - 1/29	Problems Caused by Industrialization & Rapid Urbanization	1. Wed(28th) = photo analysis (4-square technique) & introduce muckraker photos (powerpoint slides) 2. Thurs(29th) -You must log into VMWare if you haven't already -SELECT HERE for powerpoint -Be sure to resize the speaker notes at the bottom so you can read them but still see the photos on the slide -Complete the "Problems Caused by Industrialization & Rapid Urbanization" worksheet (STEP 2 in instructions first!!) -You are taking notes into the correct boxes on your worksheet -WHEN YOU FINISH - Complete Part 1 in the instructions	Fri. 1/30
