UNIT: Immigration, Political Corruption & Problems (Jan.26-Feb.11, 2015)

This is our unit plan.  Under the unit plan is a brief outline of what we do in class each day.

I CAN…explain the struggles immigrants faced and caused in Industrial America.
I CAN...analyze the impact of Industrial immigration on American society.
I CAN...explain political machines and the short & long term impact they had on America.
I CAN...analyze how Orphan Trains were a reflection of American society.

Essential Question(s) for the Unit:
How has immigration changed the face of the U.S.?
Did the benefits of industrialization out-way the costs?
How should we view something positive that was created by someone/thing unethical?
How effective (long-term) were Progressive Reforms?

-Complete the "Problems Caused by Industrialization & Rapid Urbanization" worksheet (STEP 2 in instructions first!!)

1. IMMIGRATION & POLITICAL CORRUPTION SUMMATIVE QUIZ - take the multiple choice on the computer and short answer on paper.  Turn in your short answer AND your packet when done.
