UNIT: 1930's - Depression & New Deal (April 22-April 30, 2015)

This is our unit plan.  Under the unit plan is a brief outline of what we do in class each day.

I CAN…explain the causes of the Great Depression. and connect those causes to those of the Great Recession of the early 2000's.
I CAN...identify major events in American history & culture during the 1930's.
I CAN...differentiate between liberal and conservative thinking (and connect this thinking to Hoover & FDR).
I CAN...explain the New Deal goals.
I CAN...identify proponents and opponents to the New Deal and conclude why.
I CAN...explain short and long term impacts of the New Deal.
I CAN...evaluate the success of the New Deal.
I CAN...formulate an argument and support it with quality evidence.

Great Depression Photo Centered Collage Project
1. The directions and worksheet for this collage are located in the unit folder.  Here are the live links to the two included on the directions:
Search the websites below and look through MANY pictures to have the opportunity to see many pictures taken by New Deal photographers of people and conditions during the Great Depression.  BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DO NOT USE PHOTS FROM THE WORLD WAR II ERA – CHOOSE PHOTOS ONLY FROM AND ABOUT THE GREAT DEPRESSION OR THE NEW DEAL!!
